Salesforce - HubSpot Campaigns | Step 4 | Import Campaign ID data from Salesforce to HubSpot Contact

Export your campaign and campaign members to import into HubSpot and create associations between the two object types. 

 

Before you get started

 

HubSpot: import your Salesforce Campaigns into HubSpot 

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Contacts
  • In the top right click Add contacts and select Import.
  • Click Import data
  • Click Objects from an app
  • Under Which app do you want to import from, select Salesforce records. In the bottom right, click Next.
  • Under What type of object do you want to import, select Custom Objects. In the bottom right, click Next
  • Under Choose the Salesforce object you’d like to import, select Campaigns. In the bottom right, click Review
  • Review your import data, then click Begin import.

HubSpot: import your Salesforce Campaign members into HubSpot 

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Contacts
  • In the top right click Import.
  • Click Import data
  • Click Objects from an app
  • Under Which app do you want to import from, select Salesforce records. In the bottom right, click Next
  • Under What type of object do you want to import, select Custom Objects. In the bottom right, click Next
  • Under Choose the Salesforce object you’d like to import, select Campaign members. In the bottom right, click Review
  • Review your import data, then click Begin import.  

The imported campaign members will automatically trigger the Marketing Campaign to Marketing Campaign Members workflow, creating the association between relevant campaigns and campaign members. 

 

Add SF Campaign ID to your Contact Records

Export data from your Salesforce account, including your contact details and Salesforce Campaign ID, then import this data to the corresponding contact records in HubSpot. When doing so for the first time, you will have to repeat the steps for each different campaign. 

Each time you import a different SF campaign ID to a record, the create an association between Contact records and Marketing campaign members, and Contact records and Marketing Campaigns workflow will be triggered to create the relevant associations in HubSpot. 

 

Salesforce: export your campaign member objects

  • Log into your Salesforce account. 
  • Navigate to Reports
    • In the top left, click your app launcher
    • Search for and select reports
  • In the reports tool, in the top right, click New Report
  • In the Select a Report Type field, search for and select the Campaigns with Campaign Members report type. Then, click Start Report.

  • On the left panel, configure your report columns. It is recommended to set up your report to include the following columns: 
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email
    • SF Campaign ID (your custom Salesforce Campaign Formula Field)
  • In the left panel, click the Filter tab. 
  • Search for and set up a campaign name filter. If you have multiple campaigns with similar names, you may want to use the campaign ID instead: 
    • Field: Campaign name 
    • Operator: equals
    • Name: [name of your campaign]
  • After setting up your filter, click Apply
  • After setting up your report, in the top right, click Run
  • In the top right, click the Edit dropdown menu and select Export

  • In the dialog box, select Details Only.
  • Click the Format dropdown menu and select Comma Delimited .csv.
  • Click the Encoding dropdown menu and select ISO-8859-1 (General US & Western European, ISO-LATIN-1).
  • In the bottom right, click Export

HubSpot: import your SF Campaign ID data into your HubSpot contact records 

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to CRM > Contacts
  • In the top right click Import.
  • Under Import a file, click Import data
  • Under Contacts, companies, and other CRM data, click Start Import
  • Select the Contacts checkbox. 
  • In the bottom right, click Next
  • Set up your import:
    • Contacts file: add your exported report from Salesforce here. 
    • Choose how to import Contacts: Create and update contacts
    • Select the language of the column headers in your file: English
  • In the bottom right, click Next.

  • Check your column mappings.
  • After reviewing your column mappings, in the bottom right, click Next

  • Enter a name for your import. 
  • To automatically create a segment of the imported contacts, Select the Create a contacts segment from this import checkbox. 
  • If you've turned on data privacy settings in your account, click the Set the legal basis for processing a contact's data dropdown menu and select a legal basis of processing.
  • To set the imported contacts as marketing contacts, select the Set these contacts as marketing contacts checkbox. 
  • If you've turned on import enrichment in your account, select the Enrich records checkbox to enrich records with Breeze Intelligence.
  • In the bottom right, click Finish import.
