Legacy API private apps moved, can't create an API...

It seems thatI am going around in circles with customer support regarding the legacy applications API.They say that I need to go to the API, but the API goes to Legacy and Legacy goes to another one, and I've tried numerous times to create an API and just simply can't. Has anybody had any success?

That is really strange. I can't say that I have run into the same problem at all. Have you since been able to create an API key? Like yourself, I find it fairly odd that private apps have to now become legacy apps and have to be moved to a different place altogether.
