I recently started setting up the free version of HubSpot and created a few contact segmentations to automatically sort my contacts. Everything is configured correctly on the HubSpot website and displays properly within contact records. However, the drop-down selection for my segmentations is not appearing in the HubSpot Gmail Chrome extension task bar.
I have already signed out of the extension, restarted Gmail, and fully restarted my computer, but the issue persists. I also spoke with an agent and tried both AI chat options, but their suggestions did not resolve the problem.
Does anyone know if this functionality requires a paid HubSpot plan, or if there is another fix I may be missing?
This is expected behavior; contact lists or segmentations don't appear in the HubSpot Gmail Chrome extension, regardless of whether you’re on Free or Paid.
In HubSpot, the Gmail extension only surfaces contact properties, not lists (static or active). So even though your segmentations work correctly in the CRM, they won’t show as a dropdown in Gmail.
Do this instead:
•Create a custom contact property (dropdown) for your segment (e.g., “Contact Segment”).
•Use that property for visibility and editing in Gmail.
•If you want it auto-updated, note that workflows require a paid plan; on Free, updates must be manual or form based.

Welcome to the Community @GSneed! Like @franksteiner79 I'm going to ask for clarification on what you're trying to accomplish. If you're trying to email a segment (list) that sits in HubSpot from your Gmail, @Karushna1 is right you can't. But if there's something else you're trying to do, we'll see if we can help with tips.

Thanks for sharing the details — that’s a frustrating experience, especially when everything looks correct in the CRM but not in the Chrome extension.
I’d like to bring a few Community members into the conversation who are familiar with the HubSpot Chrome/Gmail extension and property visibility rules. @danmoyle@Crystal_Hopper@Karushna1 — hope you’re all having a great week! Have you seen cases where custom contact properties don’t appear in the Gmail extension toolbar, particularly on the Free plan? Any clarity on plan limitations, supported property types, or extension-specific settings that could explain this would be really helpful.
Appreciate any guidance you can share. Victor
