Currently there is no option to automatically have emails that are logged on a contact record automatically log onto the associated lead objects. Currently if an email is sent from a Contact record or inbox, the email will not be logged to the lead object. While the only way to get the email automatically associated, is to send from the sales workspace or lead view. This creates a problem for users who wish to use the 'Email count' property on the lead object to accurately show the number of emails sent to a lead. Especially since some users may be using the sales workspace, but some are not, or are sending from the contact record. Ideally, we would have the options in the Activities settings associations tab to add association rules to log to 'open leads' for emails logged on a Contact.
